Fully qualified Sexual and Relationship Psychotherapist

Hello! I’m Ruth

As a Sexual and Relationship Psychotherapist I specialise in working with individuals and
couples experiencing difficulties concerning relationships, sex lives, sexuality and gender. I
consider a client’s relationship or sexual problems in terms of their individual context and
background. My aim is to work therapeutically with clients in achieving relationship,
personal and sexual wellbeing whatever that may look like.

I take a biopsychosocial approach to working with my clients and integrate therapeutic
approaches and medical knowledge in tailoring therapy sessions.

I originally trained as a Sexual and Relationship Psychotherapist at The Porterbrook Clinic in
Sheffield; and have since worked at Relate Derby, Midlands Partnership NHS Foundation Trust
and privately as in Burntwood, Staffordshire.

My Approach & Values

My approach to therapy is inclusive of adults of all ages and sexual orientations, single people, people in relationships whether you’ve been together for years, have recently met, are married, cohabiting, living separately or having relationships with others.

It’s often hard to talk about problems in our relationships and sex lives and even more difficult to know where to go to figure things out. Challenges within our relationships and sex lives may happen when we are single or in some kind of relationship, whether its causal, short or longer term. These problems can happen suddenly or change over time and may be experienced physically, psychologically or be a mixture of both.
